Last Minute Christmas: DIY Mug Brownie Kit

It's last minute. You're left struggling about what to give that last person on your list. If that person is either a chocolate or coffee lover, I have the solution for you.

Minute Mug Brownie

You probably already have all of these things at home. Just in case, here's what you need.
  • Microwave safe mug
  • Sharpie marker
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Cocoa
  • Paper
  • Colored pens
  • Small plastic bag and other decorations

  1. In a small bowl, combine 4 tbs of flour, 4 tbs of sugar, and 2 tbs of cocoa powder.
  2. Mix together and pour into the plastic bag.
  3. Decorate your bag and instructions.
For the sharpie mug, you need a cheap mug so that the lacquer is weaker and will melt down in the oven and hold the marker.
  1.  Prep your mug by rubbing the area that you want to draw on with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Do not touch this area once it is cleaned.
  2. Draw your design. The rubbing alcohol can act as an eraser if you act quickly.
  3. Once your design is finished, place the mug in a non preheated oven. Set the oven to 425 degrees.
  4. Let your mug bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Once the 30 minutes are up, crack the oven and let the oven cool slowly.
  6. Let the mug set for 30 minutes, just to be sure that the lacquer has set.
Now you have a dishwasher safe, hand designed mug! I liked looking at Pinterest for cute quotes to put on mine. I did this initial one with a stencil.

Even if you don't want to personalize a mug, the brownie kit is still a cute touch! I hope this helps you with your last minute gifts!
